THE MECHANIC
Peru
MAX GUIMAREY
Guimarey is a car expert. He came to the United States in 2000 with a firm grasp of American, European and Japanese engines. In his native Peru, he could earn $100 per week fixing them up. This meager wage didn't damper his passion though, as he was awarded a trip to Miami, Florida to compete in a car show. Things went so well in Florida, Guimarey took his act to California. He got a job at UC Berkeley's auto division and later bought his garage from a local mechanic.
